We have been supporting two young Syrian refugees who arrived in Ipswich last year to set up their own Syrian Falafel business, and on Saturday 27 May they will have a stall at Woodbridge Farmers’ Market!
The response to their flavoursome falafel and hummus has been overwhelmingly positive from everyone who has tried it. They will be at the market every fortnight and are also available for event catering – please do get in touch with us if you might be interested!
This is what Woodbridge Farmers’ Market had to say in their newsletter:
We are very proud to be working in conjunction with Suffolk Refugee Support to bring this stall to the market.
As Martin Simmonds of that organisation says, ‘Food is a great way to break down barriers and bring people from different backgrounds together, especially when it’s as delicious as Syrian Falafel! We’re grateful to Woodbridge Farmers’ Market for working with us to give an opportunity for people who have been through so much to rebuild their lives with a sense of purpose. We’re sure the people of Woodbridge will love Syrian Falafel, and the story behind it might just make it taste even better!’
