Thank you to everyone who supported or took part in Refugee Week 2018 in Suffolk!

We put on successful and well-attended events at the University of Suffolk, La Tour Cycle Cafe and Ipswich Film Theatre, took part in Northgate High School’s Great Get Together community day, talked to Rushmere Hall Primary School about refugee issues, received some lovely welcome cards from The Children’s Triangle Nursery, and featured twice on both BBC Radio Suffolk (contributing to their Suffolk Day coverage) and ITV Anglia news (with their special Refugee Week reports on our refugee resettlement work).

Thank you to all our volunteers, supporters and members of the public who took part, and, most importantly, to the refugees who so willingly gave their time and shared their stories – with your help we had an inspiring week celebrating the resilience and contribution of refugees in our communities and getting across important messages about who refugees are and why they are forced to seek safety far from home.

You can listen to a powerful interview with a Syrian refugee here [1:28:50 in] and us talking about the history of sanctuary in Suffolk here [1:13:15 and 2:49:00 in], both from BBC Radio Suffolk. More links to follow soon!
