Our AGM this year was a great success – it was lovely to see so many friends and supporters as well as some new faces. The Mayor of Ipswich and his team excelled at our refugee-themed Who Wants to be a Millionaire quiz, and there was a highly moving talk by a Rwandan refugee. We had two powerful displays – one of the superb artwork of a Sri Lankan asylum seeker, and the other, to give our work historical context, sketches of Hungarian refugees drawn shortly after the 1956 uprising by a founding member of SRS. We also launched our 2014 Christmas card with a presentation to 5-year-old Riad, whose picture adorns the card. During the business part of the meeting we were able to report on another challenging but successful year, and elect two new trustees onto our committee. For more pics, go to the Gallery section.
