Refugee Week runs from 15–21 June, and throughout the week, we’ll be celebrating the achievements, resilience and contributions of the people we support. We hope you’ll join us—whether in person or online—and help show that Suffolk is stronger when we stand together.

Events
Art exhibition
Throughout the week, Ipswich County Library will host an exhibition of artwork created by young Afghan and Ukrainian refugees. You can find it in the Cosy Corner, to the right just inside the main entrance. We’ll also share some pics and videos from the exhibition on our Facebook page.
Community day
On Friday 19 June, we’ll be joining the Great Get Together Community Day at Northgate High School, taking part in interactive activities with students and celebrating the values of community, inclusion and friendship.
We will also be running recreational events for the people we work with during the week, including picnics and a farm visit.

In the media
To kick off Refugee Week a little early, the story of one of our young Afghan resettlement clients is featured in the East Anglian Daily Times.
On Sunday 14 June (around 5.30pm), our wonderful Sewing Group Coordinator will be speaking with Gaby Roslin on the BBC Local Radio Make a Difference Show, which will be broadcast nationwide.
On Sunday 21 June, as part of Suffolk Day, BBC Suffolk will feature the story of a Ukrainian refugee and their UK host, highlighting the friendship and connections they have built together.

Follow on social media
Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing stories from people across our services on Facebook, offering an insight into refugee experiences and the many ways people contribute to our communities. We’ll also post event photos and highlights from the week. Please help us spread the word by following, liking, sharing and commenting on our posts.
