These days, it can feel increasingly difficult to have open, well-informed conversations about refugee and asylum issues, whether with friends, family, neighbours or colleagues. We know there are a wide range of views—often strongly and sincerely held—and we respect that.

At the same time, we’ve always believed this is, at its heart, a humanitarian issue. It’s also one that benefits from being grounded in facts and the lived experiences of the people behind the headlines.

With that in mind, we’ve put together an updated Refugee and Asylum Facts & Figures document. Our aim is to provide clear, reliable information that can help inform conversations and, we hope, take some of the heat out of the debate.
