The asylum seekers we support are often traumatised, disorientated and deeply isolated when they first come to us. Increasingly placed in remote accommodation, many arrive in Suffolk not knowing where they are or who to turn to. Women, men and children who have experienced horrific violence, exploitation and abuse now face a hostile and confusing asylum system — often completely alone.
This is where we step in. We provide warm clothing, food and SIM cards, clear advice on processes and support options, help with transport to vital medical appointments, mental health support, English classes and volunteering opportunities. But we receive no direct funding for this work, and as needs increase and become more acute, our resources are at full stretch. Without extra support, we face a significant shortfall in what we can provide this winter.
That’s why we’re asking for your help today. By supporting our Christmas Crowdfunder appeal, you can help us look after vulnerable asylum seekers. Your generosity will directly determine how many people we can reach with a warm welcome, essential advice and the practical, life-changing support they need to begin rebuilding their lives.
You can donate and find out more about the appeal here:
There are also rewards to claim, and if you’re unable to give right now, you can still help by sharing our appeal with your friends and networks or by sending us a message of support — something we can share with someone who really needs to know they are welcome here.
Thank you – together we will stand with people seeking safety when it matters most.
