Remembering Basque refugee children in Suffolk

More than half the world’s refugees today are children. But young people bearing the brunt of conflict is not a new phenomenon, and on Saturday 24th March we’ll be at Wickham Market Village Hall for an event marking the 80th anniversary of the arrival of nearly 100 Basque refugee children fleeing the Spanish Civil War following the bombing of Guernica. There will be an exhibition, talks and unveiling of a plaque – entry is free.
