At the end of a really positive and inspiring Refugee Week, we would like to thank all those who supported us and made the events so successful. The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the exhibition of art by local refugees. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with people moved and impressed by the quality and power of the work on display. Our comments book includes quotes such as “Wonderful pictures, paintings and photos – opened a door to a world only known through news headlines. And not through the extraordinary talents of our refugees.” The exhibition launch event was well-attended, with both the Mayor of Ipswich and High Sheriff of Suffolk giving their time and kind words of support.
