2015-06-16 17.30.41At the end of a really positive and inspiring Refugee Week, we would like to thank all those who supported us and made the events so successful. The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the exhibition of art by local refugees. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with people moved and impressed by the quality and power of the work on display. Our comments book includes quotes such as “Wonderful pictures, paintings and photos – opened a door to a world only known through news headlines. And not through the extraordinary talents of our refugees.” The exhibition launch event was well-attended, with both the Mayor of Ipswich and High Sheriff of Suffolk giving their time and kind words of support. Elsewhere, you can hear us talking about Refugee Week and refugee issues, along with the powerful testimony of an Eritrean refugee, on BBC Radio Suffolk here, and see more photos and info on our Facebook page here.
