Our drop-in Advice Service was developed in response to the many and complex problems experienced by asylum seekers and refugees as they adapt to life in the UK. We now offer advice covering an extensive range of issues, with a particular emphasis on employment and health for both our more settled clients and those newly arrived in Suffolk.
The service is delivered by experienced Support Workers assisted by a team of volunteers. We have built strong relationships with many local external support agencies to ensure that we provide a professional and cohesive service.
The Advice Service is operated from our office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. No appointment is necessary.
We are open to all asylum seekers, refugees and their families. We aim to provide good quality independent advice. No matter what the problem, we will try our best to resolve it. If for whatever reason we are unable to help a client find a solution, we will refer them to the appropriate external agency for assistance.
Between March 2016 and February 2017 we delivered more than 6800 individual advice services to more than 550 clients from 37 countries.
